Context Statement

I am currently employed by Education Queensland as a Year 4 teacher. I am fortunate enough to have a position at Meridan State College, here on the Sunshine Coast, and work with an amazing bunch of talented teachers and staff. I am passionate about helping my students achieve success and i am an advocate for their future welfare. As an active member of the e-learning committee here at Meridan, it is my role and responsibility to ....... Meridan State College is situated in Meridan Plains, in the west of Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast. The co-educational college was opened in January 2006 and currently provides quality education for students from Prep to Year 11 and will include Year 12 in 2012. Computer literacy and embedding ICT's into all parts of the curriculum are an intergral part of learning at Meridan. Technologies including computers, digital cameras, digital projectors, interactive whiteboards and IPod touches are all available on a daily basis to accommodate and equip students with the opportunity to succeed in this rapidly changing technological climate.

A New Beginning

Twelve months have passed and I am now an employee of Queensland Education, fulfilling my dreams and goals of assisting our youth in their educational success. My university days are a past memory and i have taken the substantive position of a professional educator, seizing the role of providing an unconditional commitment to the students in my care. While developing the values of trust, respect and sincerity are accolades to this personal commitment, so is instilling the ability to acquire the skills to equip my students for work in this diverse knowledge based society.
